The journey begins in Bordeaux. From Bordeaux to Toulouse, there are two stops. What is commonly called Canal du Midi is actually the Garonne itself, running from Bordeaux to Castets-en-Dorthe (32 ml/54 km from Bordeaux) and then the Canal de Garonne (or Canal latéral) runs from Castets to Toulouse.

The Canal du Midi itself starts here in Toulouse. The Canal starts at the Ponts Jumeaux, just outside the town and takes over from the Canal de Garonne towards Sète and the Mediterranean Sea.

Canal de la Robine and Canal de Jonction link up the Canal du Midi to Narbonne. Created in 1686 and 1776, they are very suitable for strolls and relaxing times. Enjoy camping holidays around Narbonne to discover these two waterways.
